The Yamaha YPG-235 76-Key Portable Grand Piano Premium Pack is a great alternative for the piano player who desires to find a good replacement for a piano at a very reasonable price. It is perfect for the novice musicians, professional or even the music teacher as it has all the necessary features that would be needed. It comes with an amazing Graded Touch Action ,seventy-six (76) piano type keys. I have bought one for myself and I must say that for a keyboard just under three hundred dollars ($300), the feel of the keys are absolutely amazing.

I have played many pianos over the years as a professional musicians and in my opinion the Yamaha YPG-235 has done it justice. I have however found that the keys may be slightly lighter but for the price, it may be as close as you get to the authentic feeling piano keys.

The sound quality is also amazing and clear, again for a keyboard just under $300. I must say Yamaha, has done a superb job with its Advanced Wave Memory Technology and sophisticated Digital effects. The separate woofers and tweeters makes the sound very clear and authentic. With this Keyboard, beginners can now experience what it's like to play an authentic sounding piano without compromise keyboard also features a bass boost port on each speaker adds a bit more bass frequency.

If you are someone like me who love to hear that beautiful stereo effect, then you will not be disappointed. The keyboard's realistic stereo effect adds more realism to the sounds on board

The YPG comes with 30 built in fun tunes that provides lessons which can be separated into right hand and left hand parts. Yamaha as also added the “repeat and learn “ feature that I believe many will indeed find useful. Included with the keyboard when bought here is a CD-ROM which contains 70 additional tunes that can be learned using Yamaha's Education Suite System. This suite gives you seven (7) different levels and a chord dictionary for your convenience.

I can guarantee you that if you are a beginner, you will find this education suite extremely fun. There are three lessons that are available for you to take with both hands. You can take:

 a) Waiting Mode: The keyboard will stop the song and and only will continue when you to find the right note.

b)Your Own Tempo Mode: The keyboard will automatically slow down a song to match your pace. (My daughter loves this mode)

c) The Minus 1 Mode: The purpose of this mode is to assist you in perfecting your playing technique. The song will play as normal, excluding the part you have decided to play. You can play as you listen to the song.

What I love the most about the education suit is that it gives you a grade after each lesson you have performed. I think this will add a bit of motivation to you as you progress.

With this keyboard you can also record your songs in real time with its built in multi-track recorder. This maybe useful for listening to yourself and tracking your progress or for backing performances at public events. What's more amazing is that your songs can easily be exported to your computer  with the click of a button by connecting it to the keyboard's USB port!
